Female athletes really don’t get enough credit for their insane talent and skill – so let’s take a closer look at 30 amazing female athletes who are in the Olympics in Rio this summer.

Hope Solo

The American soccer player has previously won two Olympic medals, so 2016 could be the year that sees her win a third. She is one of the best goalkeepers in women’s soccer in the world.

Allison Stokke

A pro at the pole vault and representing team USA, Allison Stokke has previously won a bronze medal for her pole vaults and has been earning herself a degree while training for Rio 2016.

Christen Press

Christen Press is a Los Angeles native and member of the U.S. National Soccer Team. You’ll have a chance to see her in action at this year’s Olympic games!

Emma Coburn

Another talented athlete representing team U.S.A at this year’s Olympic games is 25-year old Colorado native, Emma Coburn. Coburn will be racing for the U.S. in the 3000 meter steeplechase track competition.

Aly Raisman

From Needham, Massachusetts and only 22 years old, Aly Raisman is already one of the most highly ranked gymnasts in the world! At 18, she was the captain of the U.S. Gymnastics Team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

This all-American Arkansas native will be making her Olympic debut in Rio this year in Pole Vaulting By the way, if you like her, you’ll love that she has a Pole Vaulting pro identical twin (who we wont be seeing in the games this year… or will we?
Paige Selenski

Selenski is an alumni of The University of Virginia, where she played Field Hockey on a national level. She was set to be on the U.S. Olympic roster, but after having a hamstring surgery, is instead sitting in as an alternate… for now.

lana BlanchardA professional surfer, when Alana Blanchard competes, she represents the USA. She has won an abundance of competitions throughout her career- so could an Olympic medal be next?

A Canadian soccer player, Lauren Sesselmann plays for the Houston Dash team in National Women’s Soccer League. She is also an Olympic medallist, which certainly helps.

The women’s tennis association ranked Caroline Wozniacki, the Danish tennis pro, as first in the world for her insane tennis skills. We can’t wait to see her on the courts in Rio

While she does seem to do more modelling than professional sports, Megan Hardin is a pro golfer who deserves the title of ‘athlete’ when she is pretty talented at what she does.

A golfer who plays for Great Britain, Sophie Horn is set to play in this year’s Olympics. On top of that, she can say she’s also been crowned as Norfolk County Champion for three years. Impressive.

This beautiful young lady may look slight, but she’s far from it. A professional weight lifter from Canada, she is the national champion for weight lifting. She’s one to watch!

Michelle Waterson

Michelle Waterson is a Mixed Martial Arts fighter from the USA. In the past, she was titled the Invicta FC Atomweight Champion, and she regularly competes in UFC.

Having previously won two Olympic gold medals, Jaqueline Carvalho is hoping to do Brazil proud (given that the Olympics are being held there!) and win a third!
