Taylor Swift isn't letting the end of her summer romance with Tom Hiddleston get her down.
"This wasn't a dramatic break up," a source tells PEOPLE exclusively. "Taylor's been very upbeat."
Just a day after the news of their split was revealed, the "Shake It Off" singer stepped out for dinner with close friend Lily Aldridge and was also all smiles at pal Gigi Hadid's Tommy Hilfiger collaboration show days later with mutual friend Martha Hunt.
The star has been spending quality time with her girlfriends and hitting the gym while also working on new music. On Monday night, Swift joined Hadid and her boyfriend, Zayn Malik, for a night out in New York.
"I just think it's important when you're best friends to always be there for each other," Aldridge told PEOPLE at a Bulgari event on Monday. "She's always there for me."
Swift, 26, and Hiddleston, 35, called it quits after three whirlwind months together. Their relationship went public in mid-June after photos of the couple cuddling and kissing on the beach near her Rhode Island home hit the Internet.
